On a rather
grey and overcast day at Minehead CC, with rain showers threatening, Devon
faced Somerset once again.
With successes in the T20 and in their first National County match against Somerset, it was once again Devon's intention to bat their overs! However this was not required as Somerset won the toss and decided to bat. Apart from Sophie Hamilton (61), Somerset struggled against the Devon bowling attack. Sophie Florides (6-0-27-3), Millie Attwell (2-0-11-2), Ellie Ingham-Hill (8-0-37-2) were amongst the wicket takers. Somerset were bowled out for 170 in 36 overs.
Opener Libby McNally (60) batted so intelligently for her very first 50 for county and ended on for 60 off 82 balls. Immy Beasley (21) and Ellie Ingham-Hill (41) also batted sensibly to take Devon to victory in just 30 overs.
